How it works

SUPPORTED DEVICES

Which devices work with April?

The April watch app lets you follow a workout on your wrist. Separately, Apple Health and Health Connect let you share supported health data with April.

April on Wear OS.

The April companion runs workouts on a Wear OS watch paired with your Android phone.

APPLE WATCH

Coming later.

We are working on an Apple Watch companion. It is not available yet.

HEALTH CONNECT

Health data on Android.

With your permission, April can read supported health summaries through Health Connect. You can use this without the April watch app.

APPLE HEALTH

Health data on iPhone.

With your permission, April can read supported health summaries through Apple Health. The separate April app for Apple Watch is not available yet.

KEEPING YOUR WORKOUT SAVED

If your connection drops

The watch saves supported workout updates locally and sends them to your phone when it can reconnect.

OFFLINE

Save updates on the watch.

Supported set and session updates stay on the watch while your phone is unreachable.

RECONNECT

Sync when you reconnect.

The watch retries pending updates when the connection returns and tracks which ones arrived to help prevent duplicate entries.

STATUS

Check the sync status.

Check whether the watch is connected, waiting for a plan or still syncing.

RECOVERY

Return to the session.

The saved plan and workout details help you return to a session after the app is interrupted.

WATCH ESTIMATES

Watch readings are estimates.

Heart-rate and energy readings can be delayed, missing or different between devices. They are not medical measurements. Pay attention to how you feel and follow professional advice, even if the watch reading looks normal.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about the watch

Can I build a complete workout on the watch?

Create and edit workouts on your phone. Use the watch to follow the current session.

What happens if the phone disconnects?

The watch can save supported workout updates and retry them when it reconnects. Check the sync status and review the completed workout on your phone.

Does Apple Health mean Apple Watch is supported?

No. April can read supported data from Apple Health on iPhone. The April app for Apple Watch is a separate feature and is still in development.

Are watch calories exact?

No. Calories and heart rate are estimates based on the watch's sensors and calculations.

Which permissions are optional?

The permissions needed depend on the feature you use. You can turn off health, sensor or activity access in your device settings, but features that need that data may stop working.
